Back in 2007 I saw a trailer for a movie called "Across The Universe" and I noticed something very peculiar. I heard a version of 'Helter Skelter', the Beatles hit, sung by a woman with an amazing voice. After some digging, it turned out that woman was Dana Fuchs, and I've been a fan ever since.
The band just released a new CD, called 'Love To Beg' and are touring Europe. On the 8th of February, they made a stop in the Spirit of 66. Love was the theme for the night, and the crowd adored every minute of it. A set list comprising songs as the sentimental Songbird, the gospel inspired Bible Baby and Drive all passed the revue. Other hits include the powerful Helter Skelter and one of my favorites, Misery. The rest of the set comprised mostly of new songs. Love To Beg, Golden Eyes and their cover of Otis Redding's I've Been Loving You to name but a few.
