Black-Bone is a young Dutch band that has had quite a lot of spots shined on them lately. Earlier this year they had the honors of opening for Chickenfoot in the 013 (see here) and while I was too stressed out at that time to really appreciate their music that day, I promised a friend I'd give them a second change.
That second chance came in the form of their CD Release party in the PopEI venue in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. And boy am I glad I did!
Black-Bone plays a kind of Speed Rock not unlike another band from Eindhoven, Peter Pan Speedrock mixed with some more traditional Hard Rock thrown in for good measure.
Steef, the band's singer/gitarist is the kind of person who gives it his all on stage and his youthfull enthusiasm shows how much he enjoys being on stage, and on a stage he belongs!
Together with drummer Jules and Sven on bass, they put down a great show and the crowd loved every second of it, these kids have potential!
You can find a live review I wrote for metalchroniques here (French) and a review of their debut album 'Back To Mayhem' by my friends over at livereviewer can be read here (Dutch).
If you get the chance to catch these boys at a festival near you, do so, you won't regret it.
